Freestanding Kick Stand Review
I've been using the Amber Sports Freestanding Kick Stand 6ft for several months and really like it. This bag replaced a Century Wavemaster which served us well for several years. I considered just replacing the pad on the old bag again but I'm really glad I went with this one instead. Being six foot tall and with the pad starting at 12-18 inches from the floor, this bag gives more flexibility for different height users (my kids) and for practicing different strikes.I own other boxing gear from Amber and have always been impressed with the quality and this bag did not disappoint. The base is sturdy and the pad is plenty thick and seems durable. As with most of these free standing bags, the pad tends to creep upward when you strike it so you have to push it down once in a while. But I honestly don't know how you could prevent that without causing other wear issues for the pad.
Overall, a free standing bag can't compete with a good heavy bag but this bag is probably the next best thing if you need portability or you don't can't mount a heavy bag. In our case, its perfect for our home gym.
